If I only fly with a pick, I could only fish the whole year, I would select the Muddler Minnow. I like to fly this pattern, because it is so versatile, and it seems to produce on large rivers, small streams and lakes. Popular sizes range from size 4 to size 10, and bound, it must not be perfect to be effective. In fact, I have a friend of mine once told me that "the worse it looks, the more fish it catches." So, if you tie your own and they do not MuddlersLook so good, do not worry you can still catch fish.
The Muddler Minnow is a great fly rainbow trout, brown trout, cutthroat trout, brook trout, steelhead, and most other game fish. This fly has to offer two important things. First, it looks like a large number of fish feed. For example, the fish can see a large Muddler like a grasshopper, large stoneflies, or even a small field mouse. The smaller Muddlers might look like caddis flies, small minnows or small Poachers. Secondly, it isalmost any way you are caught driving with a dry line, or a wet line dead on the surface, bottom, and poured over the current, or and striping the fly. Did you give nothing to fear, the Muddler some action. Thus, it should try to look alive, away from a predator, or try to make it look like a great get to fly, from the surface of the water.
A Muddler Minnow fishing tip that works, if the fishing slower currents or fishing in the lake: Throw on a post. Once the fly hits the water,Twitch the fly a few times during stripping about 2 meters of line, and then let it sit for 5 seconds, then twitch and fly strips in the work back to you. Another cast to another spot about 6 meters from the first place. Do not try to fish on the same spot again and again.
As there are endless variations of the Muddler Minnow, there are as many ways to fish the Muddler. For example, in the summer you can fish twitching like a funnel, and pause to make it look likelike a large insect has just fallen in the water. Skate the plunger and set to wake in the current, while at the same time give the fly the action of an injured minnow trying to escape a survey robbers. In the spring, the smaller sizes and try to fish the fly with a sinking tip line near the shore, giving it a short stripping operation. During the early morning and late evening of the summer and fall, use the larger size of the plunger so that it takes action to cut the edges of deep pools andBanks.
Please remember to be careful while you're on the river, do no harm catch our beautiful country, no waste, and please practice and release for the next generation.
